A New Bobby Design & Firework Fun!

Today I am very pleased to announce that for the first time in two and a half years I finally have a new Bobby Bunny & Friends image to share with you all, which is now available to order as a greeting card from my Etsy shop!

I completed the design a few weeks ago during my holiday from work and the design features Bobby Bunny in Christening outfit which matches the Bella Bunny girl's version, the last design that I completed way back in April 2014.

Below you can see me working on ideas for the piece, the illustration in progress, the finished article and the image mocked .

It has been so good to get back into my creative stride now that most of the decorating is finally done and I have a little more time freed up, so I am hoping to start producing a lot more Bobby Bunny work in the near future!

In other Bobby news I also have a new Bobby Bunny Instagram account to share with you all, which I set up to mark my fourth blogging birthday that I mentioned a few posts back! So if you do Instagram feel free to follow #bobbybunnyandfriends.

Aside from the goings on of Bobby Bunny I must wish those of you that celebrate it a very Happy Halloween! I have mentioned in my blog before that I never really used to celebrate Halloween or go trick or treating as I grew up as it wasn't such a big thing then, but ever since I turned 18 my best friend and I tend to go out for a night on the town all dressed up. It has almost become a bit of a tradition for us over the years and last year I even did a little Halloween party for us, but after having her wedding only a few weeks ago we are having a quiet on this year which feels a little odd! This is especially so as after Christmas, the weekends of Halloween and Bonfire Night have to be my most favourite of the year. So because of not going out to celebrate Halloween this year, I instead skipped straight to Bonfire Night this weekend just gone by going to see our local fireworks display with my hubby and parents.

Usually we go to the fireworks in the village where my parents live and then go back for our traditional hot dogs and tomato soup, but unfortunately the fireworks haven't taken place there over the last few years so we thought that we would try out our local ones instead. Plus repay my parents in the process for the years of hot dogs and tomato soup that they have provided us by having them back to ours after instead.

For those of you that aren't from the UK and are not familiar with it see my blog post last year for a bit of an explanation.

The fireworks themselves were held in the ground of our local cricket club and I have to say that we all really impressed with the display, all of which was timed to music. There was also a fun fair, so both myself and my parents seized the opportunity to go on the old fashioned carousel which we all enjoyed like we were little children!

Below you can see a selection of images that I took on the night:

Thankfully the good weather that we have been having this Autumn held out for the fireworks, it fact not only did it not rain but the ground was had enough that we didn't really need wellies either!

On another note, along with the weather I have to say that I have really been enjoying the colours that this warm bright Autumn has bought for us to far this year!

Below you can see a selection of images that I have taken on my walks home from work over the last few weeks, with the last of which showing the pretty clouds outside of our bedroom window this morning.

There have been many gorgeous sunsets on my walks home, including the one above which also shows the spire of the church where the hubby and I got married.

I hope that the weather is being kind to you too wherever you are, and that you have all had a good start to your week! Thank you for visiting as always, and also for all of your ongoing support. x

New Baby Girl Card

It's another baby themed post today, with a new baby girl card for me to show you all. It's for another of the hubby's friends who actually gave birth at the end of August, but we haven't seen the little lady yet so I have only just finished the card.

I liked the new baby boy design that I did back in April (Mocked Up New Baby Boy Card for Joshua!) and wanted to make a baby girl one to match. I didn't really want to re-draw the image as I liked it as it was, but I wanted to change the colour of the baby grow to pink. So I set about fiddling in Photoshop to see what I could do, initially the closest I could make the baby grow was purple but with a little perseverance I managed to get it to the colour I wanted. I then just had to change the colour of the stars which I did freehand. I am by no means a wiz on Photoshop and I am sure that there would be quicker ways to achieve the result that I ended up with, but either way I am pretty pleased with how it turned out.

Another change that I have made with my card this time around is that I have decided to personalise the envelope with the Bobby Bunny logo and my web address. This is an extra touch that I think that I am going to continue for future cards.

I hope that you are all having a good week so far! Both the hubby and I are off this week which quite a novelty, as this is actually the first week off that we have had together since we got married nearly two years ago! It's nice to be able to spend a bit of time together, so tomorrow we are off to the cinema and we are going to meet little Isabella who the card is intended for.

We couldn't go and meet her without getting a little gift though, which I definitely does not take much persuasion! I love buying new baby gifts and when I saw the little Joules Razmataz baby grow and bib, in blossom pink below I just couldn't resist! I just loved the print, it really is just too cute!

The prezzies are now all neatly wrapped and ready to go, and I hope that her parents love them as much as I do!

I hope that you all enjoy the rest of your week & happy Oct 1st! x

Mocked Up New Baby Boy Card for Joshua!

I thought that I should get round to posting the card mock up of my New Baby Boy design that I showed you a couple of posts back. So here it is:

We met up with the new parents of baby Joshua last weekend and had a catch up and lots of cuddles with the gorgeous little man, which I have to say made me more than a little broody! They loved the card design and prezzies that we bought them, which consisted of: A Jellycat ellie rattle ring, a Gisela Graham "cute as a button" photo holder, and a lovely Olly & Belle muslin cloth; which I chose because it had blue star's on it to match Bobby's baby grow. I also found an Emma Bridgewater "Starry Skies" gift box to put it all in, again to keep with the star theme.

I have to say that I am glad that they liked the card, as I am  pretty pleased with it too. It's the first time that I have mocked up a card and felt that it is exactly the way that I would like the range to look. It took a lot of fiddling around with fonts, colours and sizes to get the look and feel that I wanted on the finished card, but I got there in the end.

I don't know if you have noticed the little sewn button detail, but this was a little addition that I made to the design after I had given the card to Joshua's parents. The version that I gave them had little sparkly star stickers on it, as I felt that I needed something to finish the design. But even though I liked the design that I gave them, I still didn't feel that it looked quite right. So I started thinking what else I could use to enhance the design, but not over power the image. I tried a bow, but thought that it was a bit girly, and other baby related items such as bottle stickers etc, were to over powering and distracting against the image. Then inspired by the "the cute as a button" gift that we gave Joshua I thought buttons! I was originally going to use blue ones, but the pearl looked more subtle. Then I was going to glue them but thought that sewing them with a coordinating thread might look better & so it did! Ta dah the design was done.

Like my movie themed wedding card design featured in my Happy Easter post. This card is printed onto 250gm canvas effect card and measures 13x13.5cm.

I hope that you have all had a good week and for those of you that are in the UK, I hope that you are enjoying the long Bank Holiday weekend. The weather has been lovely here all week, which worked out nicely as I was off work. I was intending to clear out my spare room/studio and get lots of drawing done, but it was just too nice to stay indoors. So I spent most of the week catching up with friends and spending time in the park with them and their children.

Hopefully the weather is being kind to you too and enjoy the rest of the weekend! I'm back to work tomorrow, but after having the week off I can't really complain about working on a Bank Holiday. x
